General abilities are abilities that can be claimed by characters of any ancestry or class, though any other prerequisites must still be met. For example, some general abilities can only be chosen during the character creation process, and cannot be acquired later.
Combat (trait). Abilities with the Combat trait are primarily used during combat-related encounters in Tactical Mode. They can be acquired by any character, though the Warrior class may acquire Combat abilities more frequently than other characters (see Warrior).
Whenever you ◕ Shoot a Ranged Weapon using arrow or bolt ammunition, you can use the following boon:
Shoot—⮝ Delay (16-20). The target is slowed until the start of your next turn unless it is Large or larger.
The first time you ➲ Aim each turn, you gain +2 edge instead of +1 on your next Ranged Attack before the start of your next turn.
When you ◕ Strike with a Weapon that has the ⮝ Sweep boon, you can take 1 Stress (Taxing) to use ⮝ Sweep even if you hit with the initial Attack. You must still roll high enough on the Event Die to trigger this boon.
When you use ⨭Off-Hand Attack, you don't suffer the -2 edge penalty if you ◕ Strike using a Light Melee Weapon.
While you are adjacent to an enemy, your allies that are also adjacent to that enemy gain +1 edge on Attack rolls targeting them.
You may stow up to two Weapons you're holding. Then draw up to two Weapons and wield them if you are able.
Your fists count as Flex Melee Weapons, allowing you to ◕ Strike with an empty hand.
Choose any three basic Weapons (Sword, Shield, Spear, Dagger, etc.). You gain +1 edge whenever you make an Attack using one of the chosen Weapons.
You gain +1 edge on ⨭Focus rolls you make against ◕ Intimidate and other fear-based effects for every rank of Might or Presence (whichever is higher) you have beyond untrained (d4).
Choose an Origin Bloodline ability. You gain the associated ancestry trait and one Bloodline ancestry ability of your choice that has the same trait. You must meet all other prerequisites, as normal.
